We've got this 802.11g wireless USB adapter from Alfa (model AWUS036H). What sets this USB device apart from other USB adapters on the market is that this has an RP-SMA antenna connector so that you can add an external antenna to boost your wireless range. And to make things better 2 dBi gain rubber duck antenna comes with the adapter in the retail box. Also, this has a stunning 1000mW output power. So if you are looking for a device to connect to an outdoor 2.4 GHz antenna, such as on a boat or an RV, this is a perfect solution. Because this is a USB adapter, it works on any computer (desktop or laptop) that has a USB port. In addition to working with the usual suspects (Win98SE/200/ME/XP), this also works with Windows Vista, Linux, Backtrack and Macintosh (OS version 10.4). And the necessary drivers for ALL of these operating systems are included on CD-ROM so you don't have to go searching around on the Internet.
Some new laptops from manufacturers like Dell and HP no longer include a PCMCIA card slot. Up until now if you bought or planned to buy one of these laptops, there would be no way for you to get a wireless connection option with an external antenna connector. This has all changed with this kit we are offering.
This item is brand new in retail box. This adapter does not have a built-in antenna. Use the included 5dBi gain antenna or any other antenna you may already have or get that has an RP-SMA connector on it.
